Say hello to your next president, America. You've been hearing rumors for weeks, but I was just told that Cherry Jones has just been cast as the next president for season 7 (therefore crushing Jennifer Smith's secret hope of a Karen Hayes presidency). Also to satisfy your age of instant access pleasure, I was also told that the upcoming season will indeed all be shot in Los Angeles. No New York City, no DC, no London, no anywhere else you can speculate. I wasn't given clarification if that meant the show would actually be SET in LA, but it will at least be 100% shot there. We'll just have to wait and see how it plays out.
Remember, you heard it here first.

I think this could be good. But I'm a little disappointed that that we'll be skipping another 4 years.
I've always liked Cherry Jones and, like Peter MacNicol in season 6, am sure that she can spin a great performance out of the completely idiotic things to do and say the writers are sure to create for her.
I guess it's an encouraging sign that the producers are thinking up new characters, but having a presidential character just seems to me like exactly the wrong direction. Can't Jack just get embroiled in an internationally insignificant but emotionally resonant scenario for once?
