I would say that if they were optimistic and wanted to buy themselves a couple weeks, scrap the 3-hour premiere and roll out with single episodes. It's a better contingency than keeping your fan-base, most of whom are recovering from the horrors of S6 and longing for the fresh take.
Both sides have walked away from the negotiations and refuse to return. More than likely this thing will drag out into the new year. Things are about to slow down for the holidays, and the wounds of the AMPTP walking out of talks late Sunday night won't go away soon.
I'll let you guys know as soon as it is official. (I heard cancellation of the season rumblings from various other people yesterday myself)
Fox will probably be putting out a press release today. Lots of things still up in the air. Like I said, I will bring you guys the official word when I have it.
A bit of me is still in denial, but I wonder if the late production start this fall is also playing into the picture. An already accelerated production schedule and no end to strike in sight... combined with a lot of pressure to improve 24 over last year.
On a good note, this may give me a chance to catch up on some other shows via DVD.
Maybe this also gives Kiefer a chance to re-schedule his jail visit so he can enjoy a drink over the holidays....
Why oh why couldn't this have happened last season and saved us all a bunch of agony? Maybe John Cassar and HoGo can write the script for the movie during this lovely break.

Something official would be pretty, Nina. Otherwise, I think we're all still reserving hope...

I'd say Nina is about as official as you're gonna get around the interweb...if she says it, believe it to be true.
this makes no sense -- the strike has been going on for 3 days --- why would this push back the entire season.
this doesn't pass the sanity test regardless of inside connections.
