Let the Countdown Begin

Why is it that when we go on "vacation" we always come back needing a vacation from our vacation? I got back home late last night after obtaining the dreaded Southwest C group, being flagged by the TSA because I always travel one way at a time and book flights whenever I feel like it, in a full row when I was expecting a half empty flight, and the bag with all my Christmas presents (and a few bottles of Texas wine!) went along its merry way to the plane's next stop. When it rains, it pours. But I'm back baby, and looking forward to a few more days off until getting back to the grind on Monday.

A few things are going on in the 24 world though that I thought I would pass along. First off, I've been getting various reports that there is a DVD copy of the first 24 minutes of the season premiere in copies of Entertainment Weekly this week. Right around the same time, I got a notification from Netflix that a season preview disc was available for rent. When I inquired about it, I was told that this is the same disc. So do your best to get your hands on a copy of that disc. I'll report back when I've seen it.

I know I haven't written anything about the Season 3 box set but I've slowly but surely been plowing through it and loving it. The production on it could be a bit better (see the Seinfeld sets), but it just reminded me how freakin' great this show is. I'll write more about it when I finish.

A new promo for the show was sent to me! Be sure to check it out...

Have a wonderful New Years everyone! I'll be shake, shake, shaking my booty to a 70's cover band that a friend of mine plays in. Be safe out there everyone, and I'll be back in a few days.

Houston had its first ever white Christmas on record. I hope this post finds you happy, healthy, and enjoying the holiday season. I'm going to take a break for a few days, but will be back soon with a coutdown towards the next season!

The Following Takes Place...

...between trips to the fridge at 4am for more Mountain Dew to keep you up all night because you can't get enough of the new game.
Fox counting on new '24' game online
Studio pacts with WildTangent for 'Countdown'

Viewers who can't wait for next month's return of "24" can spend their time online pretending to be Jack Bauer.

Fox and online game publisher WildTangent have pacted for "24:
Countdown," a free interactive online game now available on Fox's Web site. LG Mobile is sponsoring the game in exchange for ad placements within "Countdown."

Plot of the game has players assuming the role of Bauer, who's on a high-speed chase to prevent terrorists from blowing up Las Vegas.

Fourth season premiere of "24" is set for Sunday, Jan. 9; another two-hour episode will air the next night.

Other articles on the game can be found here and here. On another note, there is an article about one of the new season 4 actors that can be read aqui.

Janet Reno's Dance Party

I've got a TON of year end stuff to clear up this week, so I'm afraid my posting will be short and limited. I did however get news today that you can now go to the Fox Music Store and download a brand new 24 remix. Not only can you get that, but you can also purchase the end credits song (in its full length form or a ringtone). I'm not sure how the Fox store works (I'm Apple only), or what format the songs are in, but I thought I would at least spread the love.

4 Hours Of Goodness

I found this little nugget in my inbox this morning....

The wait is almost over, and this year 24 fans who are hungry for the show’s return will be able to sink their teeth into a big 4-hour “miniseries” event airing over two consecutive nights! In addition to the previously announced 2-hour launch on Sunday, January 9, FOX will air another 2-hour episode the following night, kicking off the show’s nonstop run on Monday nights!

That’s FOUR ALL-NEW HOURS over TWO NIGHTS! And the Sunday premiere leads directly out of FOX’s NFL Wildcard game (except on the West Coast)!

-As previously announced, on SUNDAY, JANUARY 9, 2004, from 8:00-10:00pm (ET/PT), FOX presents the 2-HOUR season premiere of 24!!

-On MONDAY, JANUARY 10, 2005, from 8:00-10:00pm (ET/PT), FOX presents a 2-HOUR time period premiere of 24!!

It’s a new day, something very bad is going to happen and Jack Bauer is back in action trying to stop it – that’s all we’re going to say except that the action-packed thriiller will have a bigger launch and more momentum than ever before!

(NOTE: TRADING SPOUSES will be preempted this one night only.)

So sorry to you Trading Spouses fans out there. Better luck next week.

Keep On Burnin'

Man I hate Mondays. The only thing keeping me rolling at this point is Metallica on the stereo and the knowledge that I've only got a week and a half more of work before a 2 week vacation (I only get to take time off around Christmas so I'm pretty freakin' excited). When I got to my office this morning, and unmarked envelope was sitting on my desk that just said "Jennifer Smith" on the label. Secretly praying it was a love letter from the boy I have a crush on, I open it up to find something far better. Well, maybe not *far* better, for who wouldn't die for a confession of love from their crush (are you reading this Carlos?! I love you. You complete me.), but pretty damn good anyway. Now I'm just rambling. I've had no coffee, you understand. Knowing that it would literally set the internet on fire, I promptly scanned the anonymous piece of paper left my desk and this is what it says....

So Long Sucka!

You know what is total crap? Say your husband risks his life to save you from the grips of a crazy ass psychopath who is using you as leverage to blow up the *entire world*. Say he succeeds, you come out of it alive and he saves the world all within the span of, oh, 24 hours. Say he then has to take the fall for saving your life and ends up in jail. What do you do? You hire the first divorce lawyer you can find and move on with your life.

I used to love you, Michelle. Now, I'm thinking not so much. I hope you feel really good about yourself. Do you wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and feel ashamed? Good! Because you should.

Dead to me. Totally dead to me.

PARTY PEOPLE!

My old copyright law professor in college used to manage Tag Team. Any time we had a seminar and she got up to speek she'd say "Hey everyone" and we'd all say "Whoomp there it is!". Yelling "PARTY PEOPLE!" always makes me think of Dr. Browne.

What does this have to do with 24, you ask? A ton. This Monday there is a Season Three DVD Release Party at The Geisha House which is at 6633 Hollywood Blvd. And check out this guest list!!!!

Kiefer Sutherland
Shohreh Aghdashloo (Season Four)
Jonathan Ahdout (Season Four)
Reiko Aylesworth (does anyone else say her name and feel compelled to say "suave" afterwards?)
Xander Berkley
Carlos Bernard
Sarah Clarke
Roger Cross (Season Four)
William Devane (Season Four)
Laura Harris
Dennis Haysbert
Leslie Ann Hope
Penny Johnson Jerald
Lana Parrilla (Season Four)
Lou Diamond Phillips
Phillip Rhys
Kim Raver (Season Four)
Andrea Thompson
Aisha Tyler (Season Four)
Sarah Wynter

Holy kick ass guest list Batman! Sadly, the name "Jennifer Smith" was left off of that guest list. Damn them! But, there will be a winning prize for the person who goes to the party and has Carlos sign a picture for me that says "To Jennifer, the coolest chick on planet earth. All my love, Carlos". Sigh.
